“The Echoing Remains” is a group exhibition presenting the diversity of creative responses to multiple facets of our life from an artist’s perspective, revealing the varied understanding of the world around us. This exhibition features art works of thirteen young artists working in New Delhi, India. Each of these artists, through different genres and their own unique style of working, depict their contemplation of a society and world in a state of constant and radical change. Within the static space of a frame, their works present a world that is undeniably vibrant with lived experiences and alternate reality which intricately reach out to individuals of other cultural backgrounds.
The artworks in different media depict a gateway to an immeasurable expanse of Indian society reflecting the artist’s individual concerns, beliefs and hopes for the future. Their works are rooted in relationships with people, home, nature and spiritual environment in which these were created. Despite different backgrounds and upbringings, their works harmonize with one another as much as they contrast. Although each work expresses a different subject, they jointly manifest a deeper strength of their creative pursuit, revealing in the process aspects of India that are contemporary, modern and shared.
