ONKAF Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program
The Artist-in-residence Program at Gallery ONKAF is an initiative to harness and traverse the expanse of contemporary art in India and overseas. The Gallery has been proactive in providing artists with the much desired creative space that nurtures their perspective and skills. In an effort to widen this vision the Gallery has sketched the residency program keeping in mind the various moods desired for an artist to create. It offers much needed artistic solitude, accompanied by the spaces to explore for inspiration.
In an effort to comprehend the various facets of art and aesthetics, we at the Gallery are open for fresh ideas and projects from various artistic disciplines. The artists are encouraged to experiment with diverse materials and medias such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, installation and conceptual art. Furthermore, explorations with performances, actions, film screenings and other mixed medias are also supported. The residency program expands over a period of 30 days, accompanied by an exhibition of the works for two weeks.
The residency is in the southern part of the city and is surrounded by many of Delhi’s historical sights which is quite easily accessible. From Qutub Minar to Safdarjung Tomb the immediate space is filled with many wonders. The lush green Deer Park is an artist’s delight, as the lake and ancient ruins of Hauz Khas take us back in time.
The residency is open for artists from different fields, to apply the artists can send their concept note, project or idea accompanied by a cover letter, a short bio and digital file of artworks. Submissions are open throughout the year.

In collaboration with Gallery One New Street, we are initiating our biannual international art residency in Herne Bay in Kent, United Kingdom. Promising the selected artists a beautiful sea view studio space to work at, this month-long residency will conclude with an exhibition of your artworks at the Gallery One New Street itself.
Herne Bay is a classic seaside town in Kent, South East England. This residency is designed to take you away from the hassle of the capital to the serene shores and the lively art scene of Herne Bay. With the studio situated less than a two hours’ drive away from London, the absolute immersive experience of the European arts and culture is always accessible. Established amidst the breath-taking beauty of the town, the One New Street gallery is fascinating with the traces of its enticing Victorian history still preserved in the premises and adds to the experience of the workspace.
