Ilias Doumanis – drummer, composer, mixed-media practitioner- explores systematically, through composition and orchestration, the combination of drumming with technology. Aggeliki Toubanaki – vocalist, vocal educator, PhD, sound experimentalist- studies and teaches the mechanism of voice and searches the «extended vocal techniques», through her world jazz musical projects and the interdisciplinary process.
In February 2014, they create the unique Nu Jazz “Drums & Voice Jazztronica Duet”. They present original compositions and Jazz tunes, using electronic media and programs and real time loops; they expand the sound of drums and voice, deconstruct musical forms, design a versatile sound polysemy, creating a synesthetic performative universe.
Currently they work on the release of their debut album with original compositions as a means of expression, experimentation, research, and subjective representation of the modern urban sound stimulus and socio-political milieu.
