Some words about the aria and the hero who sings the Aria.
This aria is composed in the first month of our lockdown and is part of my new opera called “Dreamtime”. The role named “Efialtis” (in Greek means Nightmare) is about a young phoenix who does not know yet his mythical powers and he is manipulated by his step-father, a black Crow to help him dominate in the world by affecting the dreams of the creatures on the planet. He sends nightmares during the sleep of every creature on the planet Earth. At the end, after the love affair of Efialtis with a White Swan “Cynthia” he realizes who he is and he fights against his step-father, bringing peace and love on the Planet.

Lyrics

Seven, seven Moons of death,
horses-Moons and a day!
Anger horses will spread their wings
Seven! their black petals…

Seven, seven feathers they torture me!
Seven feathers where they roam?
In dark, black blood I will drown myself
every their dream alive!

And Shadow will spread…
And the Shadow will weave…
her black veil again
Nightmarish! Scary!

And fear drowns every thought
That fear always counts!
Terror and fear always counts!

Seven! Seven children seven little birds
they challenged Erysihthon,
they dared to defy fear,
they deceived him and
Love they dreamed!
