Concept

Abhisarika, one among the Ashta-nayikas, decides to venture out in the dead of the night to meet her beloved. But is she out to meet her lover or is it perhaps the joy of the nocturnal adventure that fascinates her? This Abhisarika is more a loiterer, an explorer and full of wonder of her surrounding wilderness, the fauna – into a night full of enticing encounters. Perhaps she fancies the journey much more than the destination.

Performing an interpretative piece set in classical Kathak dance and Pulitzer Prize winner late Mary Oliver’s poem in translation, this performance is also a site specific response to the intriguing architecture of the terrace!
